GI-T/S 870 Xpeed - Scrambled channel after a while

Hi all

I have a GI-T/S 870 Xpeed updated with the latest firmware and a conax smartcard for the terrestrial channels. When I tune into a scrambled channel it works fine for about 1 to 2 minutes and then it shows "Scrambled Channel". Do you know what is the problem? This appears on all the scrambled channels of the smartcard but the FTA channels are good.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks all

hi Jurek

I'm in Malta and I'm trying to use the box to receive terrestrial channels from GO. I don't know the specifications/version of the conax used by the card but the specs of the provider's STB can be found here.

I've searched the net and I've found that the STB should support CAS5/72 and that this Conax SMIT cam is compatible with the GO smartcard.

Is there a method to check the conax version of the card? because I don't know. What I can tell you is that the smartcard (which works fine on the Provider's STB) is more than 5 years old.

thanks
BE

I've started to test all the firmwares, starting from the latest and going backwards. When I've installed the GI_870_Xpeed_2008_01_28.bin it worked without a glitch!! :-D

Thanks Jurek for the advise
all the best
